Charities & programs
Kirby is an active volunteer, fundraiser
and a generous contributor for the Royal
LePage Shelter Foundation. As a company, Royal LePage’s
philosophy has always been to take an active role in
the communities we serve. We accomplish this in many
different ways including assisting in neighbourhood
initiatives and supporting local programs and charities.
The Royal LePage Shelter Foundation operates
from a local and national perspective, meaning that
those funds generated in Calgary will go to help abused
women and children in Calgary. Here in Calgary, Royal LePage Foothills - in partnership with Discovery House,
has made a commitment to aid in the development of Shelters
for abused women and children – and specifically
– has signed a deal to help raise $1 million over
the next five years to build a much needed new shelter
in Calgary.
Kirby is also a fundraiser for the Calgary
Interfaith Food Bank. Every year in the fall, Kirby
hosts "The Great Pumpkin Giveaway" in which
over 1000 pumpkins are purchased and given free to the
public in return for a donation to the Calgary Food Bank.
The
Calgary Food Bank acts as a crisis facility to feed
Calgarians in times of financial trouble. Individuals
and families receive hampers containing enough food
for approximately one week to a maximum of six per year.
The food bank operates with food and cash donated by
the community.
As well as contributing to the aforementioned
charities, Kirby also contributes to local community
associations, schools and junior hockey. Contributions
are made in the form of cash & prizes to help raise
funds for the various groups and provide exciting prizes
for a variety of events held throughout the year.
