If you're unfamiliar with the Edgemont Beautification Project, it's a community initiative focused on improving appearance via landscaping, plantings and maintenance throughout Edgemont. 

The Calgary city budget provides for only a very basic level of support and maintenance to the public areas and landscape features of all city communities. This level of maintenance is insufficient to maintain an attractive and appealing appearance of the community. The results of this can be seen in the deteriorating appearance of many Edgemont landscape features, dying trees, dead grass, and overgrowth in front of signs and borders.
