Following a major redevelopment and recovery from the 2013 flood, Bowness Park is finally reopening this Saturday, February 7th. To celebrate, the City and community will be hosting a skating party on Saturday.
The celebration offers a chance to skate around the lagoon, take a ride on a horse-drawn wagon, listen to live music and indulge in free hot chocolate and munchies. If you don't have skates, KidSport will be on-hand with free skate rentals.
Saturday, February 7
11 am to 3 pm
Bowness Park: 8900 - 48 Avenue NE
"Our goal with the redevelopment is to strengthen park visitors’ relationship with water, both with the river and the lagoon, in summer and winter. The large deck overlooking the lagoon allows for better access for skating and boating. And there is now an accessible pathway that runs along the edge of the Bow River."
