We know that for home buyers with families, or who may be looking to start families, the question of schools is an important one. That's why Kirby Cox & Associates wants to help you learn about the different schools in the Calgary areas where you might want to buy a home.

The Calgary Board of Education (CBE) is the largest school board in Western Canada, with over 125,000 students in over 245 schools across the City of Calgary. The school system is owned by and accountable to Calgarians and therefore accountable to Calgary taxpayers for using resources wisely to meet students' learning needs.

The CBE offers a wide variety of programming choices to student's including bilingual learning in Mandarin, French, Spanish and German. Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) programs are also offered at selected high schools.

The following website provides a valuable source of information with school profiles, achievement results & standings, resources and future plans.

Calgary Private Schools

Calgary is home to some of the top private schools in Canada. The Alberta government does not specify the amount of tuition that a private school may charge for Grades 1 to 12. Private schools may charge tuition either on a per-student basis or provide discounts for multiple children from one family. Parents should contact the private school for information about their tuition policies.

Below is a list of some of the best private schools in Calgary, it is by no means a complete list, as there are many private schools offering a wide range of programming for not only advanced learning opportunities, but also schools that support learning disabilities, various languages as well as science and arts based programming.

COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES

Calgary has a the second highest level of secondary educational attainment in Canada. Calgary’s post-secondary institutions work with and support the city’s business, professional, technology, arts, sports and non-profit communities.
