About Citadel Homes For Sale
Citadel was one of the first communities in Northwest Calgary to adopt a Home Owner Association (HOA) fee. As a result, it is one of the most attractive areas in NW Calgary with rustic brick walls, beautiful flowers, trees and immaculate parks. The Citadel community association is run by a group of volunteers who organize such great events as an annual Stampede Breakfast and a free Winter Gala.
The community of Morningside is located on the east side of Sarcee Trail. This estate area is part of Citadel, but bears more resemblance to the neighboring estate area of The Hamptons. Many of the homes in Morningside back onto a natural ravine and the prestigious Hamptons Golf Course. Citadel attracts buyers from all walks of life, both young and old and consists of a good mix of single-family homes, townhouses, and condos.

The newly built Stoney Trail borders the North side of the Citadel allowing for easy access to the Rocky Mountains (via Trans Canada Highway), Queen Elizabeth Highway (QE2) and Deerfoot Trail. It is across the highway from the newly developed Beacon Hill shopping district with anchors such as Costco, Home Depot, and Canadian Tire. Additional shopping is minutes away in Crowfoot Crossing (one of Calgary’s largest outdoor malls) the newly built Crowfoot Library.
The nearby Crowfoot YMCA & Crowfoot Arena offers Citadel residents access to a variety of health, fitness and recreation opportunities. With over 60,000 sq.ft., Crowfoot YMCA boasts a saltwater pool, gymnasium, indoor running track and much more. The Crowfoot Arena is home to the Crowfoot Hockey Association.
Citadel Schools
Citadel Park (K-4) is a newer school built in 2006. The school has a large playing field, a paved compound and a large creative playground. School facilities include a library, gymnasium, music room and a student gathering space. Students also have access to a large collection of print and digital resources, laptops, desktop computers and SMART Board technology in each classroom. St. Brigid (K-9) is a newer school focusing on a strong Catholic education. It is located at 730 Citadel Way NW.
