Calgary is divided into 8 districts that include: Northwest, North, City Centre, West, South, Southeast, East and Northeast Calgary. This area is comprised of a mixture of older and newer homes, many with spectacular mountain and ravine views. It is also home to major McMann Stadium and major institutions such as SAIT, University of Calgary, Foothills Hospital and the Alberta Children's Hospital.
North Calgary lies to the North and East of Calgary's largest urban reserve, Nosehill Park. It consists of older communities such as Huntington Hills, Sandstone and MacEwan and newer areas such as Panorama, Kincora and Evanston. The area features rolling hills, ravines and wetland parks. Calgary City Centre

More commonly know as the Westhills, this area is north of the Glenmore Reservoir and South of the Trans Canada Highway. Access to downtown is excellent via the newly built West LRT line. This area of Calgary has a wide variety of homes to meet every need. It features many established, well treed communites and newer areas such as Silverado, Lake Chapparal and Bridlewood. Fish Creek Park meanders through the South offering year round recreation opportunities.
Southeast Calgary is a mixture of industrial areas as well as master-planned communities such as Douglasdale, McKenzie Lake and the newer lake communities of Cranston, Auburn Bay and Mahogany. It is also home to the new South Health Campus.
The Northeast has the most affordable homes in Calgary and it houses the Calgary International Airport. It offers a wide range of neighborhoods. Saddleridge and Skyview Ranch are newly developed communities, Coral Springs features lakeside living, while areas such as Sunridge, Whitehorn and Martindale have excellent access to the LRT that runs to the new McKnight-Westwinds train station.
East Calgary is one of the smallest districts in Calgary and is largely an industrial area. It is also home to the well-established communities of Forest Lawn, Dover and Penbrooke Meadows.
