Becoming a good neighbour will allow you to enjoy a relaxing and harmonious environment that is free from conflicts and stress. Here are some tips that you should follow to become a good neighbour in your Northwest Calgary community:

• Be considerate to your neighbours and their lifestyles 

  You can easily determine the lifestyle of your neighbour by just plain observation. Being considerate means you should try to avoid unnecessary things that could disturb them like playing loud music at night. You should keep in mind that your neighbours will also reciprocate the considerations you have been giving them in the future. For example, if you host a party in your home you cannot avoid noise and you should be polite by informing them ahead of time so they can prepare.

• Park your vehicle appropriately               

  Avoid blocking your neighbour’s driveway to avoid inconvenience on their part. Most Northwest Calgary real estate properties have garages and parking spaces. Just in case there is no more room for other vehicles (usually the vehicles of your visitors), try and have guests park in front of your home instead of your neighbors.

• Do not hesitate to introduce yourself   

  Introduce yourself first, whether you are the new guy or the old one. Some people have trouble in initiating introductions, so it is better for you to start the conversation.

• Establish a friendly relationship with your neighbours 

  Hold a barbecue night or dinner for your new acquaintance. This is a chance for you to get to know them better.

• Volunteer in some activities if you have time  

  Participating in some of the community activities is also a way to get to know all of your neighbors as well as doing your part to great a neighborhood to live in.
